The Japanese company haven’t specified an actual date in March, but they have made it possible to pre-register so that you get a notification when it’s available.
Super Mario Run, which released for iOS devices December 2016, is an auto-runner platformer that is free to download. Players have access to the first three levels, but the rest of the game is locked until you pay for the game.
The game released to positive reviews from the press, although fans of Nintendo were unhappy with the price of the full version alongside the need for an internet connection. That didn’t stop Super Mario Run from beating Pokemon Go’s record for most downloads on the first day of release with 2.85 million downloads. It is thought to have earned Nintendo over $5 million within 24 hours.
