EA have confirmed at an investors call that Skate 4 is not in development, after a tweet from their community manager got fans hoping.
Daniel Lingen, who focuses on competitive gaming within the EA community, sent a tweet that just included the hashtag “#skate4” last weekend. It has currently gained over 25,000 likes.

However IGN and other publications have reported that EA don’t have the game in development at all at this current point in time.
The original development studio for the series was EA Black Box, based in Burnaby in British Columbia, Canada. The last game released by the team was Need for Speed: The Run, although in early 2012 lay-offs at the company included a lot of the team that may have worked on the Skate franchise.
EA will know that a new Skate game is much desired by fans. For over a year the comments on their Instagram posts are mostly made up of people asking for Skate 4 by mentioning just the name or #makeeaskateagain. The latter became popular after skateboarding company The Berrics posted a YouTube video last September about wanting a new game.
May marks seven years since Skate 3 was released worldwide by EA on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. There’s no doubt that any new Skate game would be made for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
