Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch has been awarded Game of the Year at the Game Developers Choice Awards this week, adding another award to their cabinet.
The 17th annual GDCA awarded the multiplayer game with its most prestigious award, joining the likes of The Witcher 3, The Last of Us, and Journey as a winner. Blizzard and Overwatch were also awarded the Best Design award.
The developers have racked up multiple awards since the full launch of Overwatch in May. Releasing on PC alongside the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the game has accrued a Metacritic rating of around 90.
Multiple other games and industry names were recognised at the awards ceremony. Pokemon Go was given the Best Mobile/Handheld Game award, while Best Narrative went to Firewatch. The founder of Epic Games Tim Sweeney was awarded the Lifetime Achievement award.
