System Shock 3 developers Otherside Entertainment have agreed a deal with Starbreeze Publishing, it has been recently announced.
Including in the partnership is a $12 investment from Starbreeze for the game. They will be looking to recoup 120% of both this investment and any marketing costs, and will gain 50% of the revenue after this has been met.
Starbreeze are both a publisher and a development studio, having previously worked on the likes of Payday 2, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Dead by Daylight and Syndicate (2012).
CEO of Starbreeze Bo Andersson-Klint says that they are looking forward to the partnership, and that he is personally looking forward to System Shock 3:
System Shock is one of those iconic franchises in the history of games that still gets my blood going and Mr. Spector is one of the founding fathers of the modern action RPG. We’re greatly looking forward to bringing System Shock 3 to players world wide in our collaboration with Otherside Entertainment and Warren Spector’s team. I’ll be first in line to play
Not much is known about System Shock 3 at this stage of development, although with the likes of Warren Spector putting his experience with the original System Shock and Deus Ex games into the product, it is one to keep eyes on.
