A new MMORPG called Ascent: Infinite Realms has been revealed by Bluehole Studios, the development company behind Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds.
The universe that Ascent: Infinite Realms takes place in is described as a high fantasy steampunk world, which is captured in the trailer. As you would expect from an MMO the world will be expansive, but the developers say there will also be an emphasis on vertical exploration throughout the game.
There will be five classes to choose from, although more information about them isn’t known yet. Players will have the chance to modify their airships to make them unique while the trailer itself looks to show building creation.
One of the main points described in the press release for the game is player versus player combat that will put realms against each other. Factions will be used to split players up into parties, while the combat will be able to take place both on the ground and in the air.
Bluehole Studios are more recently known for one of their subsidiary companies working on Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, a multiplayer game revolving around the concept of the 2000 film Battle Royale.
